Taiko Summit Colorado

The theme of this taiko drumming extravaganza is IKKA, the Japanese word meaning “Coming together in harmony as one.” Taiko Summit Colorado will celebrate the growth of Japanese culture in the modern era, and around the world. In addition to the Boulder Theater performance, Grandmaster Seiichi Tanaka and the performers will hold taiko drumming workshops on Sunday, June 6 for taiko students and also for the general public. Additionally, starting in May, pre-festival community events, and performances will be presented.

Headlining:

Grandmaster Seiichi Tanaka, who is responsible for the introduction of taiko drumming to the U.S. in the 1960s. He is coming from San Francisco, and will be accompanied by his top students.
